Valuable Information For You!

  • Bringing Home A New Bun
Bringing home a new bun is like adopting a tiny, fluffy roommate with very strong opinions about snacks and nap spots. Expect nose boops, binky zoomies, and the occasional dramatic flop when they’re feeling extra content—or extra sassy. They’ll quickly take over your heart (and probably a corner of your living room), hopping into your life with soft feet and big personality. Just remember: you don’t own the bun—the bun owns you. A few tips for starting off strong: Bunny-proof your space! Cords, houseplants, and anything chewable should be tucked away. Your bun will explore and taste-test. Litter training is real! Rabbits are smart and can learn quickly with a little consistency (and maybe a bribe or two). Hay is life. Unlimited hay keeps their digestion on track and teeth in good shape. Think of it as their personal buffet. They need room to zoom. Even if they live in a pen or cage, daily out-of-enclosure playtime is a must. Slow introductions = strong bonds. Give them time to warm up to you—and always let them come to you first. Routine is key. Buns are creatures of habit, and they’ll appreciate (and expect!) a regular schedule. Get ready for a whole lot of adorable, a sprinkle of mischief, and a bond that’ll make you wonder how you ever lived without your long-eared sidekick!
  • One Or Two?
Great question—and one we hear all the time! While a single bunny can absolutely thrive with plenty of human attention and enrichment, rabbits are naturally social animals and often do best with a bonded buddy. A pair of bunnies can keep each other company, play together, groom one another, and just overall live their best bunny lives. However—and this part is huge—peaceful pairings only happen when bunnies are spayed or neutered. Intact bunnies, especially as they reach maturity, can become territorial, hormonal, and unpredictable. Spaying or neutering helps eliminate aggressive behavior, spraying, mounting, and mood swings (yes, bunnies have those too). Fixed buns are much easier to litter train and tend to be calmer, cuddlier, and more consistent in personality. If you’re starting with one: You can absolutely begin with one bunny and later introduce a friend. Just be sure both are fixed before doing any bonding. If you’re ready for two from the get-go, look for a pre-bonded pair or plan to bond two fixed bunnies with time and patience. Remember: A well-matched bunny duo can be a joy to watch—but even a solo bun can be deeply happy with lots of love, attention, and enrichment from their humans.
  • Bun Diet
A balanced bunny diet is key to a healthy, hoppy life—and we’ve got you covered! Here’s what we feed our buns: Hay, hay, and more hay! This is the main course of any bunny diet. We use a mix of alfalfa (especially for young, growing buns) and coastal hay, which is a great high-fiber option. Alfalfa hay is nice and stemmy, which is fantastic for wearing down those ever-growing teeth and keeping digestion in check. Pellets: We feed a high-quality 16% protein pellet, which gives our bunnies the extra nutrients they need—especially during growth stages. For adult buns, we recommend limiting pellets to avoid excess weight gain, but young bunnies benefit from a bit more to support healthy development. Fresh water: Always available, always clean. Some buns prefer bowls, others bottles—let them be the judge. Treats & veggies (when older): As your bunny matures (around 12 weeks and up), you can slowly introduce rabbit-safe veggies and occasional treats. Always go slow, one new food at a time, to avoid tummy upset. Pro Tip: Unlimited access to stemmy hay helps keep both teeth and bellies happy. Rabbits’ teeth grow continuously, so fibrous hay helps prevent dental issues and satisfies their natural chewing instincts.
  • When Can My Bun Go Home?
Bunnies go home between 8–10 weeks old, depending on their development. We make sure they’re fully weaned, eating independently, and ready to transition smoothly to their new homes.
  • When Can We Visit?
For the health and safety of our buns, we do not allow in-home visits until pick-up day. However, we’re happy to send updates, photos, and videos, as you also see posted on social media. This ensures that our bunnies remain in a stress-free environment until they are ready to go to their new homes.

  • How big will my MPL get?
Mini Plush Lops typically range between 3.5 to 5 pounds when fully grown. While they stay in that adorable small-to-medium size range, it’s worth noting that they often mature structurally a bit later than some other breeds. So while they may look petite and baby-faced for a while, they’re just taking their sweet time growing into those perfectly plush proportions!
  • How do I reserve a Bun?
Our bunnies become available for reservation as soon as they’re posted in the “Available” section of our website. We’ve set it up like a store for easy browsing and to highlight each bun’s individuality—but please note: you won’t be able to make payments directly through the site. This helps us ensure that reservations are intentional and that we’re connecting with real families who are ready for the commitment. To reserve a bunny, simply fill out the contact form—Lyric usually gets back to you within 24 hours! A $50 nonrefundable reservation fee is required to hold your bunny, and it’s only refundable if that specific bunny were to pass away before going home. This system helps us keep families updated and involved, with regular updates every few days so you can follow along with how your bun is growing and thriving!
  • What is a waiting list?
How does your waiting list work? We use a master waiting list—it’s not specific to individual litters. This means we go in order of who has placed a $25 waiting list reservation fee, regardless of which litter the bunny comes from. You can absolutely let us know your preferences—whether that’s a certain color, gender, or even a specific pairing—and we’ll keep you in the loop when something fitting becomes available. Being on the waiting list gives you first dibs on upcoming bunnies before they’re posted to the website. Please note: the $25 fee is nonrefundable under any circumstance. It simply covers the time and effort we spend keeping you updated and ensuring you’re among the first to hear about available babies that meet your criteria, and access to our client group. This $25 is not for a specific bun, but only to provide first dibs on availability.
  • Do you deworm your buns before they go home?
Yes, absolutely! All of our bunnies are dewormed twice before they leave for their new homes. We use a combination of Fenbendazole and Toltrazuril, which helps protect against both common intestinal worms and coccidia—a microscopic parasite that can be especially hard on young rabbits. We take this extra step because bunnies are particularly vulnerable during transitions, and we want to give them the strongest, healthiest start possible. Early deworming helps prevent stress-related flare-ups and ensures your bun arrives home feeling their very best.
  • Can we ship or deliver?
While we don’t personally deliver long distance, we’re happy to help connect you with trusted transport options! We work with a private transporter who can safely deliver your bunny to you—please note that this option can be a bit pricey, but it offers a safe and stress-minimized journey for your new bun. If you’re looking for a more budget-friendly option, we may also be able to help you connect with other rabbit-savvy transporters depending on your location. Just reach out and we’ll do our best to guide you through it!
